PAUL PRICE: The Talk

A great line-up is easy to spot, and so from the moment the announcement was made that Paul Price, The Beautiful Unknown, and The Dunes were all playing Tattoo Rock Parlour on May 22nd, I planned on being there. Of course, if you saw my last article, you know that I skipped out on the night to catch We Are The Take, the unfortunate side-effect being that I ended up missing the entire set by The Beautiful Unknown.
Paul Price (vocals, guitar) has been down in L.A. writing some new material, and (as far as I know) this was the first time some of the new material had been played on stage. The set started with a wickedly loud and awesome piece of rock, and continued on at a pretty amazing pace. Paul was backed by some great musicians... if you think you recognize the guy on guitar, that's because it's James Roberston who plays lead for Run With The Kittens. Although I think a few of the newer songs will benefit from more stage time, the set held together really well. The set was capped off with a couple of solo songs on acoustic guitar.
